Young artists up to the age of 18 are invited to submit art work for the Merrymeeting Arts Center’s (MAC) spring show which will run from April 8 through May 29, 2016. The show is entitled, “Vernal Pools: Turtles Show.” The theme of turtles is meant to inspire young artists to turn to art history, world cultures, mythology, and the local ecology for ideas.
All media are welcome—painting, drawing, sculpture, textile, mobiles, etc. Framing is not necessary, but paper artwork that is glued or taped on construction paper works well for display. Artwork needs to come to MAC at 9 Main Street, Bowdoinham on Monday April 4 from 3-6 p.m. or by prior arrangement. At the end of the show, artwork should be picked up at MAC on Tuesday, May 31 from 3-6 p.m. or by appointment.
Every piece of art submitted should have the artist’s name, the title of the piece, the medium used, and the price or NFS (not for sale) clearly written on the back. The artist will get 70% of any sales.
The Merrymeeting Arts Center Gallery is open Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. or by appointment (207-370-5002). For more information on the show, contact Peggy Muir at firstname.lastname@example.org.
